AAYUSH KUMAR

Aayush Kumar, a 4-year-old boy from Gujarat was diagnosed with Unilateral Retinoblastoma when he was one year old. Parents noticed a white reflex in Aayush's Right and consulted a doctor in Gujarat. The doctor diagnosed the child with eye cancer and referred them to CFS, Hyderabad. Ayush started his treatment at CFS on May'20 with chemotherapy, topotecan injection, and focal laser. After 6 cycles of chemo, his right eye was enucleated. The Histopathology result after enucleation showed high risk so the doctor is advised for more cycles of chemo. So far the child has received 8 cycles of chemotherapy. Parents had exhausted all their savings and were seeking financial assistance for further treatment. After receiving the request from the treating hospital Iksha started supporting further treatment of Aayush. He is now on a 6-week follow-up.
