KHUSHBU PARVIN

Khushbu is from West Bengal. She was just 5 months old when her parents noticed a white reflex in her left eye in a few pictures taken. In two months’ time, there was progress in the white reflex. They consulted a local doctor and suspected it was Glaucoma. They were referred to a hospital in Hyderabad for further investigation. MRI and other necessary tests were done, and she was diagnosed with Bilateral Retinoblastoma. Parents started treatment in Bangalore. Khushbu received 6 cycles of chemo along with laser therapy. As the tumor did not regress, she was advised for more cycles of chemotherapy. There was a relapse of tumor in her left eye, her left eye was enucleated in Nov’21 and a custom-made prosthetic eye was also done. She is receiving treatment for the right eye as the tumor is still active.
