His parents noticed a white reflex in his left eye in July 2026. He was initially examined at MM Joshi Eye Hospital, Hubballi, and was later diagnosed with unilateral retinoblastoma (Group B) at HORUS Eye Care in August 2026, following an EUA. His father works as a hotel waiter.

Tanmay is now 5 months old and has completed 4 of the 6 planned chemotherapy cycles. His tumour has shown a 99% reduction, and he is currently stable. He has two chemotherapy cycles remaining and will continue regular follow-up examinations to monitor his condition.
